What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
This blog does not currently have any contact forms however you are free to email me (the writer, editor and general waffler) at email@example.com. Emails will be treated as personal correspondence.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

From time to time I may run competitions. Any personal details provided will be held by a clearly defined third party competition hosting software. Details provided for the purpose of entering a competition will not be passed to any 3rd party besides the clearly defined competition hosting software. Competition entries will only be asked to provide minimal details to allow contact in the event of a win, upon winning the winner will be asked to provide details such as postal details, which on agreement may be passed to the company providing the prize.
Once a competition winner has been successfully contacted, all other competition entry details will be deleted.

In the unlikely event of a data breach this website will be taken offline until the breach has been resolved. All efforts will be made to contact anyone who may have been effected.
