Slimming World week 3: Peaks and troughs

Slimming World week 3 feature image

With any diet you can expect good days and bad and this week has had both. At the beginning of the week I was excited. I’d tried on a pair of my small size 18 trousers and they fit perfectly. This was a good sign that I would soon be in a size 16. I had also started to feel less hungry, as if my body had adapted to the change in diet from processed food and sweets, to fresh food and fruit. Unfortunately the weekend was a turning point. Child wanted to go to McDonald’s, so I reluctantly decided […]

Slimming World Week 2: No flip flops for me!

Slimming World Week 2 Feature Image

After my successful loss of 3.5lbs last week I was unexpectedly subdued. I still don’t really understand why. After all, I should have been over the moon with the result. Still, despite my mood I settled down to another week on Slimming World. Week 2 This week was far easier in many ways as I already knew which of my favourite foods were free and the Syn counts for my favourite pointed foods. I’ve found that I’m eating bucket loads of fruit and yogurt, and filling myself up on jacket potatoes and baked beans. Bacon and eggs for breakfast is […]

Slimming World week 1: Not another diet!

Slimming World week 1: Feature photo

For the past two years since Baby was born all I seem to do is start diets. There was my first attempt to join Slimming World online which left me fuming, my disastrous experience with Lighter Life which left me in need of medical treatment, and a whole host of calorie counting and food optimisation attempts which just left me hungry. With all that in mind, I was hesitant to announce “another” diet attempt, as I really don’t like failing, particularly in public. But after seeing my wedding photos I felt very disappointed in myself and my size 18 figure. I […]

Coolsculpting, cosmetic surgery without the surgery?

Coolsculpting feature image

I’ve been overweight my entire life, thanks to the diet of junk food and takeaways my parents deemed a balanced diet. But with my wedding fast approaching I’m desperate to lose my flab and fit into my beautiful wedding dress. Something that is going to require a LOT of hard work! I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve often thought of cosmetic surgery. But having researched it, I’m just not willing to go through the trauma of having my fat brutally removed, my abdomen cut from one side to the other, the long recovery times, and the chance of infection […]

Weight Loss Challenge: 52lb in 52weeks #4

Weight loss challenge: 52lb in 52 weeks

This week I’m feeling more positive about my weight loss journey by far. I’ve managed to substitute a number of foods for lower fat alternatives and although this won’t get me far on its own, it’s a start. One of the things I’m struggling with most is getting my head into the right mind frame to diet. I’ve got used to eating what I want, when I want and turning back the clock to a time when I ate what I should, when I should is difficult. By swapping foods such as regular meat for lean meat, I’m doing something […]

52lb in 52 weeks – Week #3

52lb in 52 weeks weight loss challenge

Welcome to week 3 of my 52lb in 52 weeks weight loss challenge! I would like to tell you that after my dodgy start to the year I bucked my ideas up and had a fantastic week where I followed my diet meticulously and lost lots of weight… Unfortunately this would be a shameless lie! What actually happened was that I woke up on Monday with a miserable cold, a poorly Grumpy Dad and a very grumpy teething Baby. As becoming a duvet diver was not an option, I had to ignore the sniffles and the general feelings of retchedness  […]

52lb in 52weeks week #2

52lb in 52weeks dieting blog www.grumpymum.co.uk

Well it’s the start of week 2 of my 52 week challenge and I think this week past week could best be described as, could do better. If I’m honest my diet has been absolutely appalling! I’d like to say that I tried my best and just fell off the wagon, but that would also be a lie. I didn’t try my best and on a couple of occasions I even found myself comfort eating. I think there has been two major factors in my failure to stick to a diet this week. Firstly, there’s just too much junk food […]

52lb in 52 weeks weight loss blog series #1

52lb in 52 weeks weightloss blog www.grumpymum.co.uk

Here we are, the first day of the new year and my first 52lb in 52 weeks blog post. So, what is this series about? After having my beautiful daughter 4 months ago, I think it’s fair to say that I have piled on the pounds. I’m now two dress sizes bigger than I was pre-pregnancy and I wasn’t very happy with my weight then. Something needs to be done and that something is my 2017 new years resolution to lose 1lb per week for the whole of 2017. Hence the title, 52lb in 52 weeks. If I’m honest I […]

Blogging New Years Resolutions

Blogging and weight loss new years resolutions www.grumpymum.co.uk

Some people hate new years resolutions, seeing them as a way to set yourself up for failure. I on the other hand, love them! The new year is a brilliant time to wipe the slate clean and draw a line under everything that you have done, before turning to the future and considering what you might achieve. In the past, I’ve done some wonderful things, because I set new years resolutions. I’ve lost over 3 stone in weigh, gone from being an exercise phobe to a gym bunny (but without the matching gym gear and inappropriate earrings), taken lessons in […]
