12 things I’ve learnt in 12 months, A First Birthday Post

12 things I learnt in 12 months, A first birthday post

This weekend was Baby’s first birthday, I honestly can’t believe it! It seems like only a couple of weeks ago that she was a tiny squishy baby, and now she’s a larger, squishy, fast moving baby! People always tell you that the time goes so fast, but you never believe them until you find yourself saying the same thing. For me it seems particularly crazy as Baby has gone from not being able to crawl at all, to super crawling in the last week before her birthday and now she’s tentatively trying to pull herself up already! We decided that […]

Review: YippieYo Crossbuggy

Review: YippieYo Crossbuggy

About the YippieYo Crossbuggy The YippieYo Crossbuggy is a two seat, two wheel, hand pulled trailer suitable for children up to the approximate age of 6 (40kg total weight) and capable of handling most terrains. The Crossbuggy has an aluminium frame, shock absorbers, large wheels, disc breaks, and is fully collapsible. My Review of the YippieYo Crossbuggy One of the most frustrating things about having a small child is how restricted you are when it comes to getting out and about. Prams are great for paths and shops, but our recent family trip to Dorset put into sharp relief how […]

My Birth Story

Grumpy Mum's Birth Story

The day I found out I was pregnant was one of the best of my life. We hadn’t been trying long but as I was the ripe old age of 34 I had worried that we might struggle. I must have used 30 tests in the weeks after finding out, just to make sure… Then the morning sickness started and I no longer needed a little strip of paper to convince me I was pregnant. Apart from severe morning sickness, my first trimester passes without distinction and soon it was time for my 12 week scan. I was both nervous […]

Fed is best – Why I chose to bottle feed my baby over breast feeding

Why I chose bottle feeding over breast feeding

“You don’t know her circumstances, maybe she couldn’t breast feed” “Maybe she can’t breast feed for medical reasons” “Some women just can’t breast feed” “You should have breast fed, then you wouldn’t have to carry so much stuff”   These are all things that have been said to me or about me over the past 5 months since Baby was born. You see, I chose to bottle feed from Birth. Yes, you read that right, I chose to bottle feed. There were no extenuating circumstances, I didn’t fail at breast feeding and my boobs work just fine, thanks for asking. […]

10 things I did differently than planned with Baby

10 things I did differently than planed with Baby www.grumpymum.co.uk

Back before Grumpy Baby entered the world I had some very definite ideas about how I would raise her and what I would and wouldn’t do. I’d read all the books and thought I knew everything! Once Baby arrived I like many, many mums before me, had to learn that the reality of having a baby is very different from the black and white teachings of the baby books. So here are a few of the things that I have done completely differently than planned. 1.Dummys Before Baby was born: I’ve written an entire post on this HERE, but in […]

Baby Wings Pacifier / Dummy Clips Review

Baby Wings Pacifier Clip Review www.grumpymum.co.uk

About the product The Baby Wings pacifier clips are specially designed tethers which prevents your babies dummy from being dropped on the floor or lost. The clips come in a pack of 3 and the design includes a strong woven ribbon with a unisex pattern, a thick braided loop to fasten the dummy and a heavy duty, springless, rounded clip to tether the dummy. My Review When I was asked to test the Baby Wings dummy clips I had only just purchased a similar product at a comparative price, so I was very interested to see how they held up […]

The Horror of Baby Changing Rooms – Part 2

Baby Changing Rooms Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

A few days ago I wrote about the shocking state of many of the baby changing rooms I had used. The inspiration for this post was a particularly dreadful baby changing room in Debenhams Bath branch. Read the original article HERE Following my article Georgia, the Selling Support Manager for the branch has been in touch to discuss the current condition of their toilets. Georgia was very pleasant and started by appologising and emphatically agreeing that the current condition of all of the toilet facilities in store are not acceptable. We then went on to discuss the two main topics […]

The horror of baby changing rooms

Baby Changing Rooms Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

After visiting some of the most disgusting baby changing rooms I’ve ever seen, I’ve been inspired to write about how awful these amenities can be. Baby changing rooms aren’t required by law or by any regulation that I know of, however most businesses who provide toilet facilities and would like to cash in on the mummy (or daddy for that matter) pound, do provide them. The fact that they are purely a cutesy is perhaps why the majority of them make Glastonbury porter loos look clean! Take the changing facility I visited in Debenhams, Bath city center today. This was […]

Costa Coffee – In Hot Water – And another thing…

Costa Coffee in Hot Water www.grumpymum.co.uk

Read the rest of the story… Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 I never intended to write another follow up to my Costa Coffee story. In truth, I came under some quite unpleasant fire after the story, which was published in the Swindon Advertiser, made it into a comic Facebook page called “Angry People in Local Newspapers”. However, not everyone miss-understood the point of the article and several days later Barrie Hudson, also of the Swindon Advertiser published the following in his column. Save Save Save
