About Peachy Packages

Peachy Packages is a subscription box designed to encourage you to take some “me” time. Each box is full of beautiful stationery, chocolate, a drink, and an assortment of relevant goodies. All of which are delivered to your door once a month.

You can purchase a one off box, 3 month subscription, or 6 month subscription. Alternatively, if you don’t like surprises, you can purchase previous boxes, or a little peachy package which contains highlights from previous boxes at lower price point.

For the purpose of this review I have been given June’s Peachy Package, which contained:

  • A Peachy Packages fabric bag;
  • A bar of hand made chocolate;
  • Some speciality tea bags;
  • A diary;
  • A To Do pad;
  • Some post cards;
  • A note card containing a pin badge; and,
  • Two pencils with inspirational writing on them.

My Review of Peachy Packages

The best thing about subscription boxes, in my opinion, is the moment you open them and start rifling through to see what you’ve been sent. It’s a little like Christmas, and my Peachy Package was certainly fun to unpack.

There is something very pleasing about stationery. As much as I love my computer, whenever I want to write anything personal to me, I much prefer good old pen and paper. It’s relaxing to write something out by hand, the way a pen scratches across paper is hypnotic and beautiful… even if my writing is a bit messy and my spelling is atrocious!

So, for me Peachy Packages idea of getting people to take time out for themselves by giving them stationery, chocolate, and a cup of tea is absolutely spot on!

Although the Peachy Package itself is quite small it is packed full of useful, tasty, or just plain pretty, things. Every item seemed to be of a good to high quality with none of them appearing to be the glorified packaging material that you get in some subscription boxes. I also felt that all the items fit nicely together as a package with a theme running through it, rather than a disjointed selection of items.

In particular I loved the stylish diary which was in my box. Before I joined the iPone cult I always had a paper diary and on seeing this one I realised how much I miss that tactile structure. That evening after Baby had agreed to close her eyes, I sat down with my unusual lemon and poppy seed chocolate (which turned out to be the nicest white chocolate I’ve ever tasted) and a cup of chai, and set my blogging life to order. It was a satisfying and peaceful task and most importantly, I had unwittingly proven that Peachy Packages do indeed encourage you to take a little time out for yourself.

My one slight concern with this subscription box is the cost. At £35 per box it isn’t cheap, but there’s no question in my mind that if you bought all the items within a package at a shop such as Paperchase, it would cost more than £35. Peachy Packages have however come up with a solution for the money conscious in the form of the Little Peachy Package, which contains highlights from the regular package for just £15. This seems to be very good value. For example, the Little Peachy Package equivalent of my box contained:

  • A few speciality tea bags;
  • A full size bar of chocolate;
  • A diary;
  • Some post cards; and,
  • A pencil with inspirational writing on them.

All in all I definitely enjoyed the Peachy Packages experience. All of the items were lovely and fit together well. I also felt that the box met Peachy Packages goal of encouraging people to take a step back and have some “me” time.

Who’s it for?

Anyone who likes stationery, or needs encouragement to take a little “me” time. The box would also make an excellent gift for anyone who enjoys stationery.

What does it do well?

Peachy Packages presents a very appealing box of stationery. The addition of chocolate and a hot drink was a brilliant idea and pulls the concept together nicely.

What could be improved?

At £35 the subscription is a little on the expensive side, although I do believe it is good value for money. If there was the option to purchase the Little Peachy Package as a subscription, it could open the box up to a wider market.
