My Review of InkRocket

As I mentioned in my previous post about building a capsule wardrobe, high fashion is something of a mystery to me. I love clothes, but I’m most often found in jeans and a t-shirt, so when the opportunity arose to review InkRocket’s new line of coordinated “Mummy & Me” clothing I jumped at the chance.

In My experience, matching parent and child outfits can be amazing, or they can be cheap and tacky. I had high hopes for InkRocket being the former and when I open the packet containing my “Wild Mama” sweatshirt and “Born Wild” romper, I wasn’t disappointed. The sweatshirts relaxed fit and wide draped neck means that it fits beautifully, even though I’m still carrying quite a bit of baby weight. The organic cotton mix fabric is also the perfect weight for the design, just heavy enough to keep you warm on an overcast day but not so heavy that it would be too warm for the summery cut of the sweatshirt. I also loved the gold slogan on the front which is eye catching but classy.

Baby’s matching romper is made of the same organic material and is very soft and supple. I ordered a size 9-12 and it fits Baby who is currently a little over 10 months old, perfectly while still allowing plenty of room to grow. Because the romper fabric is quite thick I did find that it can get a little warm for Baby, so I was happy that it is a footless design, giving me the option of leaving her feet bare to keep her cooler or wrap them up to keep her warmer on chilly days.

When I buy baby clothes, the first thing I look at after the fit is how sturdy they are and how well they will hold up to Baby’s best efforts to destroy them. Baby was having one of those days when we tested her new InkRocket romper and by the end of it the romper was covered with at least three different foods and an assortment of bodily fluids!! However, despite this the romper and my sweatshirt (which has also been subjected to her best attempts at destruction) both came out of the wash looking like new.

I was extremely happy with InkRocket’s “Mummy & Me” range. The clothes are high quality and because they’re ethically made, they make you feel good too. Both outfits fit perfectly, were very comfortable, looked great, and washed very well. You couldn’t really ask for more, but it is also worth noting that InkRocket prioritize their commitment to providing ethically and environmentally friendly clothing and as a result they donate 15% of all sales to a handful of charities.
