End of year round-up 2016

Grumpy Mum's 2016 End of year Round-up www.grumpymum.co.uk

As 2016 is coming to a close and 2017 is standing on the door step, I thought it was time that I shared a round-up of my year and started to think about my plans next year. For the Grumpy Family, 2016 was a year of change. The start of the year saw Grumpy Dad and I living on our own in a one bed flat. We did as we pleased and were often found at our favorite ale pub, curry house, or popping out to watch local gigs. While we enjoyed this lifestyle it wasn’t to last long before […]

Christmas Shopping Rage

Christmas Shopping Rage www.grumpymum.co.uk

This post may not sound Christmassy enough for Christmas Eve, but it was inspired by my visit to town just days before Christmas. Every year I meticulously plan my Christmas shopping, specifically so that I will not need to visit the shops during Christmas week, but this year something went horribly wrong. Three days before Christmas I discovered that Grumpy Teen and Child both have God sized Christmas stockings and I had not bought anywhere near enough stocking fillers to do the job. So, with panic in my eyes, I bundled up Grumpy Baby and headed into the hell that […]

SimpleTaste Milk Frother – Review

Simple Taste Electronic Milk Frother Review www.grumpymum.co.uk

About the product The SimpleTaste Milk Frother is in essence a miniature electric hand whisk which aerates hot or cold milk, making it light and fluffy or thick and frothy. The whisk has a silver coloured plastic handle topped with a large on/off button which needs to be depressed while frothing. The wand, which is used for frothing the milk, is steel and sufficient in length to be used in a 1 pint measuring jug. In addition to the hand whisk the box includes comprehensive instructions, 2 AA batteries and a wire stand. The Review Only a week ago Grumpy […]

Great Western Cameras, Swindon

Great Western Cameras, Swindon - Review www.grumpymum.co.uk

Grumpy Dad (GD) and I always try to buy each other one present that we actually want for Christmas and this year my present will be a new camera. After making this decision we did what most people do and researched what we wanted online before heading out to the shops to actually see and touch the cameras we had been looking at. At first we went to Currys where I discovered that the camera I thought I wanted wasn’t for me and although I did find a camera I liked, Currys had no stock and the sales assistant seemed […]

The Horror of Baby Changing Rooms – Part 2

Baby Changing Rooms Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

A few days ago I wrote about the shocking state of many of the baby changing rooms I had used. The inspiration for this post was a particularly dreadful baby changing room in Debenhams Bath branch. Read the original article HERE Following my article Georgia, the Selling Support Manager for the branch has been in touch to discuss the current condition of their toilets. Georgia was very pleasant and started by appologising and emphatically agreeing that the current condition of all of the toilet facilities in store are not acceptable. We then went on to discuss the two main topics […]

So you’re offended

I’ve recently had my most bizarre blog related experience yet. A woman I have know for over 30 years chose to publicly rant at me and then unfriend me on Facebook. The reason? Well, from what I could understand from her angry message, she didn’t like my blog. This person isn’t the first to dislike my blog and certainly wont be the last, however I have to admit to being a little taken back by the bile in her reply to my review of the Waybridge in Swindon, considering she was in no way attached to the venue. In fact, […]

The Weighbridge Swindon – Review

The Weighbridge Brewhouse Swindon Review www.grumpymum.co.uk

On Monday 12th December, the extended Grumpy family headed out for a luxury meal at the Weighbridge Brewhouse in Swindon. The Weighbridge is know for it’s fantastic food and attractive surroundings and there’s no doubt that when you arrive you are struck by how clean and pleasant the restaurant is. There is a well stocked bar near the entrance, a good sized eating area with room for both large groups and more intimate dining, and a balcony area which sometimes features live music. All of the tables are immaculately dressed for fine dining and the overall impression is one of […]

Hyping Up Hive – The Conclusion

British Gas Miss-selling Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

Read Part 1 HERE On the 7th December I wrote an article about the terrible miss-selling practices that I had witnessed British Gas engineers employ in order to get me to part with £150 to £250 to purchase a Hive smart thermostat. I was shocked that 5 different engineers advised me that I would need to have Hive installed to replace my faulty thermostat instead of replacing it with a free analogue model, which was similar to the thermostat I already had. After some investigation I discovered that British Gas engineers were indeed able to replace the thermostat with a […]
