One Month of Blogging

It’s hard to believe it but the Grumpy Mum Reviews blog has now been live for over a month!

When I started this blog, I didn’t expect it to be anything beyond something to pass the time while Grumpy Baby slept. In all honesty it hadn’t occurred to me that anyone would even read my blog, so the response I’ve received so far has been amazing.

In the short time that the blog has been live, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some fantastic brands and “meet” some very talented parent bloggers. Notably Mummy In A Tutu who has very kindly given me a lot of advice that I would have been lost without.

I’ve discovered that blogging isn’t as easy as I first thought. Most days I’m up early with Baby and still doing blog work at gone Midnight. In addition to writing I’ve had to get my head around researching products, photography, advertising and networking, all in between looking after Baby who is growing more energetic every day!

I can’t say that I’ve entirely cracked all of the skills I need to blog successfully, I still have a long way to go and I seem to come across something new to learn or implement every day. However, I have come a very long way in the short time.

Sadly, despite all the positives, the past month hasn’t all been plane sailing. After my story about Costa Coffee refusing hot water to warm baby bottles was in the newspaper, I came under a lot of personal attacks for daring to say that this wasn’t right and if I’m honest, this knocked my confidence quite a bit. But, I also received a number of messages of support which helped me to put the negativity to one side and move on.

So, what next? Well, I’m looking forward to continuing to grow my blog and my readership. I’m hoping to work with a lot more brands over the next few months and to add more articles on a whole host of subjects. Joining in with Linkys is high on my “to do” list, as is publishing at least one article per day. I also want to continue my crusade against bad service wherever I find it, as tackling bad service head on is the only way it will improve.

I feel like I’ve only just scratched the surface of what this blog can achieve and I’m excited to see where I and the blog, might be in a few months time.
