This is Oh My Blog! A brand new monthly interview series featuring a whole host of fellow bloggers. Each month I will be featuring a interview from a fantastic fellow blogger on a range of subjects. This month, the questions are based on the fitting February topic of love!
This months featured blogger is Roxanne from Every Cloud Mummy.
Tell us about yourself and your blog.
Hellooo, I am Roxanne! I’m 27, from Poole in Dorset and am a proud mama to Lucas, 5 and Ava, 2 who both keep me very busy and slightly mad! I am a part time HCA in a Doctor’s Surgery where I take bloods, perform ECG’s and health checks, give Flu Jabs, dress wounds and remove stitches/staples and lot’s more, I love my job and the variety every day. I am also a blogger at everycloudmummy.com which I enjoy doing so much. I only started my blog last September after umming and ahhing for ages about doing it, but I am so glad I finally found the confidence and it’s something I am really passionate about, it’s also like a therapy for me. On my blog you’ll find a mixture such as my experiences as a mum, parenting tips (not from an expert by any means!) some heartfelt posts such as how I coped with a break up and co-parenting and some funny posts such as ‘Which School Mum are you?’ I recently wrote a post called ‘Just a healthcare assistant’ and was absolutely flabbergasted when it went viral on facebook and was shared 25,000 times! I have also started blogging for HuffPost which I am super super excited about.
What is your current relationship status?
My relationship with my children’s father unfortunately ended when my youngest was a tiny baby, but I have been so lucky to have found my true soulmate (sorry, what a cringe word!) in my now fiancee, Dan. He’s in the building trade, plays rugby and is the kindest, most thoughtful man I have ever met.
Do you ever celebrate Valentine’s Day?
This may sound odd, but I HATE Valentine’s day. Even though I am pretty loved up and have a lovely man, V-day puts me in a bad mood. I can’t stand forced romance and I like to be romantic on my own terms! I also feel really sorry for anybody single as it’s a pretty sh** day for them.
It’s your first date! Where do you go?
I would say a walk on the beach then for a drink or a coffee.
What’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you?
This is a hard one! Dan is a pretty soppy bloke. He does something sweet for me and says lovely things to me every single day (I am very grateful!) I think the most romantic thing he has ever done for me would be when I came home from work once to candles lit around the whole house, Ed Sheeran playing and little notes for me guiding me upstairs to a bubble bath, wine and flowers. Then new PJ’s on the bed and a lovely dinner. It was amazing!
What is your favourite romantic film? Cheesier the better.
Oh it’s got to be Titanic! Or Definitely, Maybe (Ryan Reynolds, yum)
Spill the beans! Who’s your celebrity crush?
I think I join a whole nation of hot blooded females when I say Tom Hardy. He is just… amazing.
Flowers are pretty popular at this time of year. Do you like receiving them or do they really not float your boat?
I am obsessed with flowers. I am so happy each time Dan brings me flowers home and the weeks he doesn’t I always buy them for myself! I like to have lillies and tulips in the house.
Do you have children? Do you want any (or any more)?
I already have a beautiful boy and a gorgeous little girl, but I would definitely like another in the future, not anytime soon though!
What would be (or was) your choice of song for your first dance at your wedding?
Ed Sheeran – Thinking out Loud.
Do you have any plans yet for Valentine’s Day 2017?
Not really, I will probably cook a nice meal and have a bottle of wine at home, unless Dan has anything planned.. which I doubt because he knows I am not a fan of Valentine’s Day!
Raw oysters are pretty famous for being an aphrodisiac. Have you ever tried them?
No! I don’t like seafood AT ALL. But, I actually would like to try one!
Imagining money’s no object, where would you go for a romantic getaway?
It would have to be an island paradise somewhere like The Maldives or The Seychelles.
What’s the best Valentine’s gift you’ve ever received?
This is so boring but I honestly can’t remember! Whoops.
Finally, what is the number one most important thing you value in a relationship?
Communication and truth. These are both so so so important to me.
