Blogging New Years Resolutions

Blogging and weight loss new years resolutions www.grumpymum.co.uk

Some people hate new years resolutions, seeing them as a way to set yourself up for failure. I on the other hand, love them! The new year is a brilliant time to wipe the slate clean and draw a line under everything that you have done, before turning to the future and considering what you might achieve. In the past, I’ve done some wonderful things, because I set new years resolutions. I’ve lost over 3 stone in weigh, gone from being an exercise phobe to a gym bunny (but without the matching gym gear and inappropriate earrings), taken lessons in […]

End of year round-up 2016

Grumpy Mum's 2016 End of year Round-up www.grumpymum.co.uk

As 2016 is coming to a close and 2017 is standing on the door step, I thought it was time that I shared a round-up of my year and started to think about my plans next year. For the Grumpy Family, 2016 was a year of change. The start of the year saw Grumpy Dad and I living on our own in a one bed flat. We did as we pleased and were often found at our favorite ale pub, curry house, or popping out to watch local gigs. While we enjoyed this lifestyle it wasn’t to last long before […]

Christmas Shopping Rage

Christmas Shopping Rage www.grumpymum.co.uk

This post may not sound Christmassy enough for Christmas Eve, but it was inspired by my visit to town just days before Christmas. Every year I meticulously plan my Christmas shopping, specifically so that I will not need to visit the shops during Christmas week, but this year something went horribly wrong. Three days before Christmas I discovered that Grumpy Teen and Child both have God sized Christmas stockings and I had not bought anywhere near enough stocking fillers to do the job. So, with panic in my eyes, I bundled up Grumpy Baby and headed into the hell that […]

The Horror of Baby Changing Rooms – Part 2

Baby Changing Rooms Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

A few days ago I wrote about the shocking state of many of the baby changing rooms I had used. The inspiration for this post was a particularly dreadful baby changing room in Debenhams Bath branch. Read the original article HERE Following my article Georgia, the Selling Support Manager for the branch has been in touch to discuss the current condition of their toilets. Georgia was very pleasant and started by appologising and emphatically agreeing that the current condition of all of the toilet facilities in store are not acceptable. We then went on to discuss the two main topics […]

So you’re offended

I’ve recently had my most bizarre blog related experience yet. A woman I have know for over 30 years chose to publicly rant at me and then unfriend me on Facebook. The reason? Well, from what I could understand from her angry message, she didn’t like my blog. This person isn’t the first to dislike my blog and certainly wont be the last, however I have to admit to being a little taken back by the bile in her reply to my review of the Waybridge in Swindon, considering she was in no way attached to the venue. In fact, […]

Hyping Up Hive – The Conclusion

British Gas Miss-selling Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

Read Part 1 HERE On the 7th December I wrote an article about the terrible miss-selling practices that I had witnessed British Gas engineers employ in order to get me to part with £150 to £250 to purchase a Hive smart thermostat. I was shocked that 5 different engineers advised me that I would need to have Hive installed to replace my faulty thermostat instead of replacing it with a free analogue model, which was similar to the thermostat I already had. After some investigation I discovered that British Gas engineers were indeed able to replace the thermostat with a […]

The horror of baby changing rooms

Baby Changing Rooms Article www.grumpymum.co.uk

After visiting some of the most disgusting baby changing rooms I’ve ever seen, I’ve been inspired to write about how awful these amenities can be. Baby changing rooms aren’t required by law or by any regulation that I know of, however most businesses who provide toilet facilities and would like to cash in on the mummy (or daddy for that matter) pound, do provide them. The fact that they are purely a cutesy is perhaps why the majority of them make Glastonbury porter loos look clean! Take the changing facility I visited in Debenhams, Bath city center today. This was […]

One Month of Blogging

It’s hard to believe it but the Grumpy Mum Reviews blog has now been live for over a month! When I started this blog, I didn’t expect it to be anything beyond something to pass the time while Grumpy Baby slept. In all honesty it hadn’t occurred to me that anyone would even read my blog, so the response I’ve received so far has been amazing. In the short time that the blog has been live, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some fantastic brands and “meet” some very talented parent bloggers. Notably Mummy In A Tutu who has […]

Costa Coffee – In Hot Water – And another thing…

Costa Coffee in Hot Water www.grumpymum.co.uk

Read the rest of the story… Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 I never intended to write another follow up to my Costa Coffee story. In truth, I came under some quite unpleasant fire after the story, which was published in the Swindon Advertiser, made it into a comic Facebook page called “Angry People in Local Newspapers”. However, not everyone miss-understood the point of the article and several days later Barrie Hudson, also of the Swindon Advertiser published the following in his column. Save Save Save
